About the Role
The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading business development efforts for Foundation Drilling projects on the West Coast, supporting both new and existing clients. This role manages the full pursuit lifecycle—from prospecting and opportunity evaluation through proposal coordination and contract execution—working closely with internal subject matter experts to secure project awards.
What You'll Do
- Lead all business development pursuits for the Foundation Drilling Division.
- Develop, maintain, and review the opportunity pipeline and tracker; provide regular updates to leadership.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities through builder exchanges, client outreach, and RFP reviews.
- Support Go/No-Go decisions by summarizing key project parameters (client, scope, location, schedule, deadlines).
- Coordinate proposal development, including RFIs, scope input, internal deliverables, and shared file organization.
- Serve as the primary client contact during pursuits, providing timely and accurate responses with input from internal teams as needed.
- Schedule and participate in client meetings, job walks, and internal coordination sessions.
- Communicate client updates, addenda, and RFI responses to internal teams.
- Attend trade shows and travel as needed to maintain client relationships and pursue new opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as required to support business development efforts.
What You'll Need
- Experience or working knowledge of foundation drilling and construction services preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional client-facing approach.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.
- Ability to understand cost elements and discuss pricing concepts with clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and document management tools (e.g., Bluebeam).
- Strong collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams and organizational levels.
- Willingness to travel overnight as needed (approximately 3 trips per month).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
